Full-Featured MCP Server

I'd love to see LunaCal introduce an official, full-featured Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables AI assistants, agents, and automation platforms to interact directly with LunaCal.

With the rapid adoption of AI-powered workflows, having a comprehensive MCP integration would make LunaCal significantly more valuable for businesses looking to automate scheduling, manage bookings, and integrate their scheduling infrastructure with other business applications.

Proposed Features

1. Complete Booking & Scheduling Management

  • Create, retrieve, update, reschedule, and cancel bookings.

  • Check real-time availability across users, teams, and booking types.

  • Retrieve booking details, attendee information, and meeting history.

  • Manage recurring appointments and group bookings.

  • Access booking statuses and cancellation information.

2. Booking Page & Event Type Management

  • Create, edit, duplicate, and delete booking pages.

  • Manage event types, durations, availability rules, buffers, and booking limits.

  • Update booking descriptions, questions, custom fields, and branding settings.

  • Manage booking links, redirects, and confirmation settings.

  • Configure team-based and round-robin scheduling.

3. Team & Organization Administration

  • List and manage organizations, teams, and members.

  • Invite, update, and remove team members.

  • Manage user roles, permissions, and access levels.

  • Assign booking pages and event types to specific users or teams.

  • Access organization-wide scheduling data.

4. Availability & Calendar Configuration

  • Read and modify availability schedules.

  • Configure working hours, time zones, holidays, and date overrides.

  • Manage calendar connections and scheduling preferences where supported.

  • Configure meeting buffers, minimum notice periods, and daily booking limits.

5. Workflows, Notifications & Integrations

  • Manage automated reminders, notifications, and follow-ups.

  • Configure webhooks and automation triggers.

  • Retrieve workflow execution details and booking-related events.

  • Integrate scheduling workflows with CRMs, project management platforms, and custom applications.

6. Reporting & Analytics

  • Retrieve booking statistics, cancellations, and attendance data.

  • Analyze booking volume by team member, booking type, and date range.

  • Access conversion and scheduling performance metrics.

  • Enable AI agents to generate reports and identify scheduling trends.

Technical Requirements

Ideally, the MCP implementation would include:

  • Official hosted MCP server: A remote MCP endpoint that can connect directly to compatible AI clients without requiring users to self-host infrastructure.

  • OAuth 2.0 authentication: Secure connections with user- and organization-level authorization.

  • Comprehensive API coverage: Full read/write capabilities across the features available in LunaCal, rather than a limited set of basic scheduling tools.

  • Granular permissions: Read-only and write-access scopes to control what AI assistants and agents can access or modify.

  • Multi-organization support: Allow AI agents to work with multiple organizations and booking pages while respecting existing permission boundaries.

  • Real-time data: Accurate availability, booking, and configuration information.

  • Clear documentation: Published MCP tools, schemas, authentication instructions, examples, and integration guides.

Example Use Cases

A full-featured MCP would make it possible to:

  • Ask Claude or ChatGPT to review upcoming meetings across the entire organization.

  • Have an AI agent create a new booking page, configure availability, customize meeting questions, and publish it automatically.

  • Automatically reschedule appointments based on CRM updates or internal workflows.

  • Connect LunaCal to platforms like ClickUp, HubSpot, Make, n8n, and custom internal applications through AI-driven orchestration.

  • Have an AI assistant analyze booking performance and recommend improvements.

  • Allow internal AI agents to manage team availability, scheduling configurations, and booking operations without manually navigating the LunaCal dashboard.

Why This Matters

For businesses increasingly adopting AI agents and automation, an MCP server is becoming an important integration capability.

Rather than building and maintaining custom API integrations for every AI platform, LunaCal could provide a standardized interface that makes its functionality accessible across the growing MCP ecosystem.

The key request is comprehensive platform coverage, not simply an MCP that can list available time slots or create bookings.

Ideally, nearly every action available through the LunaCal dashboard should also be accessible programmatically through the MCP server, subject to appropriate authentication and permissions.

This would position LunaCal as a truly AI-ready scheduling platform and substantially increase its value for agencies, enterprise teams, and businesses building agentic workflows.
